“There are people out there among us that are in pain; in spite of, or because of, the richness and rewards of your life, you may be one of them. It is true that I have been. It might be the pain of failing relationships, or family distress, or it might be inner psychic pain of unknown origin, or the ache of insecurity, loss or lack of self esteem, or just the subtle signs of discomfort in the quiet. Pain and fear, fear and pain seem to have a power unto them selves and in many ways they do. The power they have is to drive us to seek shelter and safety, but when that becomes elusive it can drive us deeper into the darkness of our feral minds. We fight back ferociously, or meekly attempt to stay out of the way, but either way we are dogged by daily reminders of our needs and our struggles to survive. Our self esteem takes a heavy hit each time we fail to thrive whether or not we win the battles set before us.
The meek might inherit the earth, but until then, they live like second class citizens trying to do our bidding or avoid our glares. The tyrants of this world, big and small, find little comfort in their bullying and little peace in their ill gotten gains as they substitute accumulation for compassion and power for good will. It is time to take back our power and surrender to the light.
In this book we will be looking at a new paradigm for getting better, feeling better, having better, doing better and being better. So, you might say it is a self help book; or ‘how to’ book except for one small problem—you can not learn HOW TO become happy. You can discover the source of your unhappiness and you can discover the nature of it, but the shift to being happy is a miraculous one not a linear one. This is because happiness is a state of mind or a state of being and will require a shift of perspective and oddly enough, a shift in the source of your self conscious awareness. So, perhaps this is more an information book, or owners manual for being human, honing the one tool each of us possesses and must use if we are to obtain any of those goals. That tool is your own human self conscious awareness and that is a most misunderstood part of our being.
The first few chapters are challenging; challenging you and your beliefs about how the world works and how you work in it. It will challenge time honored beliefs we hold about the nature of our problems and the nature of our consciousness. It will delve briefly into the ancient past of our prehistory ancestors and present to us a new way of “seeing….”
